Penalty Box - What Is It?
What is the Penalty Box?
The Penalty Box is a temporary restriction that prevents you from bidding on auction items. This happens when you've won auctions but failed to complete your purchase multiple times.
How do I end up in the Penalty Box?
Peg uses a "3 strikes" policy:
- Strike 1: You win an auction but don't complete checkout within 24 hours of winning.
- Strike 2: You still have not completed checkout after 48 hours. At this point your won item becomes available to other shoppers.
- Strike 3: You failed to complete checkout after a full 72 hours, or someone else has purchased your won item.
Your account is placed in the Penalty Box after obtaining a third strike.
What happens when I'm in the Penalty Box?
- You cannot place bids on any auction items
- You can still browse, view auctions, and add items to cart for direct purchase
- Your account remains active for other features
How do I get out of the Penalty Box?
Getting out is simple:
- Go to your account settings
- Add and save a default payment method
- Once saved, you'll be automatically reinstated and can start bidding again

- Always complete your purchase after winning an auction
- Pay attention to checkout notifications and time limits
